Some reasons for using FFE for your DofE Award:

You will be given 2 COMPLIMENTARY staff places for groups of 13 and above
From 2012, your expedition can combine the expedition, residential and volunteering sections in one short trip... This will really help each participant qualify for the full Gold award, which looks excellent on their UCAS form!
From expedition inception to completion your own personal expedition coordinator will help and guide you.
Our team are all trained in DofE assessment with an excellent understanding of the DofE conditions
Your expedition will include a FREE DofE Assessor (who may also take the role of Far Frontiers Expeditions Leader)

In the summer of 2010 a record breaking number of students qualified for their Gold Award in the Himalayas, jungles of Borneo and the Atlas Mountains of North Africa! Teams were trekking with "remote supervision" under the 20 new conditions and, in Morocco, a small number of schools also qualified for their residential sections, working alongside local school children on critically-needed community projects.

Background

The mission statement of The Duke of Edinburgh's (DofE) Award charity is simple:

"To inspire, guide and support young people in their self-development and recognise their achievements."

Far Frontiers Expeditions was the first Approved Activity Provider (AAP) for the updated DofE Award Scheme. Local Operating Authorities will only accept applications from licensed AAPs for any Duke of Edinburgh expedition.

Organising a DofE Award expedition can often involve lots of extra work. You have the pressure of ensuring your expedition ticks all the mandatory Award requirements. We can now put your mind at rest by guaranteeing that the FFE Award itineraries we offer will all meet these requirements and will be recognised by your Local Operating Authority. We will also assist you with the paperwork required.
