Nepal Annapurna Adventure

This trip will be a challenging, varied and exciting 14-day expedition to the Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal. There is time to explore and enjoy the sites and sounds of Kathmandu at the beginning and end of the trip.

From Kathmandu we drive west to Pokhara and undertake a superb trek in the foothills of the Annapurna, through the tiny villages with the constant backdrop of the dramatic snow-capped mountains.  Then it's on to white water rafting with a night on a remote beach camp before entering the jungle.  Here we will search out greater one-horned rhinoceros on the backs of elephant and feed and wash them in the river as well.

This is a true adventure and one that you are certain to enjoy!

Itinerary at a Glance

Day 1/2 - Depart UK and arrive in Kathmandu.  On arrival there is time to relax and do some sightseeing - possibly a bisit of the Monkey Temple or the famous Bodinath, or we might even get a glimpse of the Living Goddess at her residence in Patan Square.
Day 3 - We drive west to Pokhara through the countryside of the Kathmandu Valley.  Along the way we should encounter fantastic views of the snow capped peaks of Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Himal Chuli, Manaslu and of the Annapurna Range of mountains
Day 4/8 - We spend these days trekking through the foothills of the Annapurnas.  There are no roads up here, so the trails between the villages are the main roads for the people who live here.  Our trek takes us through Ghorepani and Tadapani. One early morning we climb to the stunning viewpoint of Poon Hill, where we see the sunrise, and enjoy one of the best spots to see the Annapurnas.
Day 9 - After a short trek to meet our private bus, we travel back to Pokhara where we have time to investigate the busy streets and the quiet lake
Day 10 - Today is an exciting full day of white water rafting on the Seti River where you should be prepared to get wet!
Day 11 - Travel to Chitwan National Park and arrive in time for an evening elephant back safari, followed by a full day of jungle activites. This can include elephant back safaris, a boat trip looking for freshwater dolphins, and watching and joining in elephant washing, as well as seeing (and maybe joining in with) Thari people dancing
Day 12 - Back to Kathmandu for some last minute shopping for those gifts for people back home!
Day 13 - Arrive back in the UK
