The emptiness of a land with no fences and no privately owned land is awe inspiring, and at times it feels like you can see the curvature of the earth. Just when you think you are alone in the world, herders on horseback will appear, equipped with bowls of yoghurt and Soviet sunglasses, looking like the lost foot soldiers of Genghis Khan.
Mongolia 'The Land of the Blue Sky' is a remarkable country, where dense Siberian forests, rolling Central Asian Steppes, the vast Gobi Desert, glacier-wrapped mountains and crystal pure lakes meet. Expeditions here often take on the feel of a 'Boys Own' adventure, riding horses across the steppe in the day, and fishing and gathering wild onions to cook, over an open fire, in the evening (of course there is always a ready supply of tinned food!). This is a true adventure and one that you are certain to enjoy!
