Ecuador & Galapagos Expedition

Everyone in their lifetime wants to visit the Galapagos and discover the Amazon.  In Ecuador we can achieve this dream in one amazing expedition.

Ecuador is the smallest of the Andean countries, yet offers an extreme diversity of landscape and culture.  From the Highlands and Indian markets, with its Valley of the Volcanoes, to the Amazon jungle and then the magnificent Galapagos Islands, teeming with exotic wildlife and fascination.

The expedition team will undertake a variety of activities.  After exploring the wonders of Quito, the capital, the team will visit the world famous Otavalo Indian market and undertake a community project with an indigenous community near Cotacachi, not far north of Quito.  We will either homestay or camp with the community and experience their daily life.  This should be a real highlight and gives superb opportunities to interact with the people.  We will travel  into the Highlands to see this mysterious 'Valley of the Volcanoes' then head into the Amazon jungle for our 'jungle experience'.  Our trekking phase will take us along the 'Inca Trail' for a three-day trek before heading to Cuenca and thence to Guayaquil.

We then fly to the Galapagos for an amazing visit.  We stay at Puerto Ayora and explore Santa Cruz island and take a boat trip out to Daphne Island.  When not snorkeling or visiting the Charles Darwin Research Centre we are likely to see blue-footed Boobies, sea lions, marine iguanas and massive turtles.  Then sadly it is time to return to Quito and then back to UK after an amazing expedition!
