This expedition combines an absolute kaleidoscope of experiences from horse riding in the Maipo Canyons, trekking to a glacial lake and watching the sunset over the Valley of the Moon in the Atacama Desert. The highlight of the tour is, undoubtedly, the ascent of the Licancabur Volcano (5916m) after which you will be delighted to relax in the thermal baths and hot springs of the Uyuni Salt Flats Region. Days 3/5 - Horse
trekking and BBQ. Acclimatisation
day trek. El Morado National Park
& glacial lakes. O/N bus to San Pedro de
Atacama
Day 6 - Travel north up
the coast into Atacama
Days 7/8 -
Acclimatisation day treks to include desert trek through
Valley of Death, Quitor fortress, sunset in Valley of
Moon.
Day 9 - Drive to Tatio
Geyser and short trek to reach over 4800m. Laze in
hot springs then return to San
Pedro. Remainder of day at leisure.
Days 10/12 - Trek to
4700m near Laguna Blanca. Day trek to another larger peak
to help acclimatisation. Climb
Licancabur Volcano (5916m).
Days 13/15 -
Exploration of Uyuni Salt Flats & take a dip in
thermal baths. Travel through small settlements and
lagoons of the Altipano. Cross Salar de Uyuni and visit
Islands of Incahuasi. Return to San Pedro de Atacama.
Day 16 - Flight to
Santiago for London connection.
Day 17 - Arrive in
UK.
