Alaska Expedition

White water rafting and trekking in Denali National Park, Canoe on Tangle Lakes, Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, Sea- Kayaking at Prince William Sound, Kenai Fjords National Park, Kenai National Wildlife Reserve, Kachemak Bay State Park, Homer and Anchorage.

Twenty days of active adventure in the most pristine wilderness in North America. Raft, trek, sea kayak, spot bears, whales and moose as you trek through the world-famous mountain landscapes of Alaska.  This is as dramatic and unspoiled as it gets.

Itinerary at a glance

 

Day 1/2 - Fly to Anchorage

Day 3 - Trek in Denali National Park

Day 4 - Travel  through Denali National Park 

Day 5 - Morning trek, afternoon white water rafting

Day 6 - Trek to lookout, canoe at Tangle Lakes

Day 7 - Trek then drive to Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. 

Trek through forest and down to the glacier

Day 8 - Trek onto the ice with local mountaineering guide

and crampons.  Optional introductory ice-climbing course on

the glacier, or an optional extra Historic Kennecott Copper

Mine tour 

Day 9 - Trek to Bonanza Mine or trek along McCarthy

Creek, or relax

Day 10 - Drive out of Wrangell-St. Elias National Park

across the Chugach Mountains.  Trek up Worthington

Glacier

Day 11 - Sea kayaking at Shoup Bay up to Shoup Glacier

Day 12 - Board the Alaska state ferry for crossing of Prince

William Sound - opportunity to see whales, bald eagles

and other wildlife.  Drive along Turnagain Arm to Seward

Day 13 - Trek through forest and beach followed by

optional extra wildlife viewing cruise to active glacier in

Kenai Fjords National Park (or have a free afternoon)

Day 14 - Trek up the Exit Glacier to Harding Ice Field.  Visit

Kenai National Wildlife Refuge

Day 15 - Travel to Homer then water taxi to waterfront

cabins in Kachemak Bay State Park.  Afternoon trek through

forest to scenic viewpoint of Cook Inlet and several

volcanoes of the Alaskan Peninsula and Aleutian Islands

Day 16 - Full day kayaking

Day 17 - Water taxi back to Homer.  Walk along the beach

and/or explore town.  Drive back to Anchorage

Day 18 - Free day in Anchorage

Day 19/20 - Arrive back in UK
